next on a very special episode of 'Army Wives'
have a real good time
Dancing in the desert
blowing up the sunshine
There's nothing wrong with me
There's something wrong with you
We're the prophetic generation of bottled water
We drive as we live "It's New York drivers. It's one thing I've observed from living here: They will not slow down. It's almost like you're taunting them. I was told in Boston that signaling is revealing your intentions to the enemy. It's the same here. You're better off not signaling."
"...our brains lack the power to process all the things happening on the road" "...people, cloaked in the anonymity of their cars, exhibit the worst human traits. Like readers hiding behind pseudonyms online, self-importance inflates through the roof, social convention vanishes, and naked aggression rules.... drivers are fueled by ancient parts of the brain where instructions to hunt and kill reside."
Why don't you ask the kids at Tiananmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there?
They disguise it, hypnotize it
Television made you buy it
I'm just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl
She's scared that I will take her away from there
Dreams that her country left with no one there
Mesmerize the simple minded
Propaganda leaves us blinded
I'm just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl

fuck the lot of you - the nme is a bible and rocks in comparison to pitchfork a.k.a Black kids killers- as an English person living in America - you should be happy someone is giving your country a compliment.... oh and in the light of the recent economic nightmare that the usa are having right now....you yanks probably could not even afford to buy the NME..so sod off.

Hey guys, I know you're having fun arguing and all that, but I just wanted to remind you:
Generalizations are fucking stupid.
Thanks, UK. I feel better.

"Encounters at the End of the World"
If you've ever had a dream or passing thought of living/working/escaping somewhere "out there"...
a philosopher/fork lift driver, a plumber/Aztec descendant, a vulcanologist/Dr Who...
diving under the ice in -2 water without a tether... Shackleton's preserved cabin, mad penguins, why they put a bucket on your head, what you find in the ice tunnel directly under the south pole (you will never guess)...

Radiohead "House Of Cards"
"In Radiohead's new video for "House of Cards", no cameras or lights were used. Instead, 3D plotting technologies collected information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data."

I remember the last time I saw you
You looked so alive
Everything seemed right and
I couldn't stay, the sun was going down
I had so far to go and I didn't know that
You said you were tired then you went away
Up into the sky
I got the news after the party
I was on the road, couldn't get back home to say goodbye
And see everybody, again to realize
We all have to fly
You said you were tired then you went away
Up into the sky

The Swell Season at the Moore Theater ~ April 30th
The Swell Season at the Moore Theater ~ April 30th
April 30th, 2008 ~ the Moore Theater... what a revelation! Seattle's 101 year old treasure box. I am still surfin the high off of seeing Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova and the rest of the great band that make up The Swell Season. This is the true ending to "Once" or the sequel played out in real life... as if they've stepped out of the screen: pulling a vacuum cleaner and still playing the same warn-out guitar.a good review
Swell Season's extended concert is charged by emotional singing
the view from the balcony (4th row)
from number 12 down it's a great list of bands. but last time i checked England wasn't really the pinnacle of cool. north american bands own english bands.
